Oak Bridge offers a seamless academic journey across every stage of childhood — tuned to the way children of that age actually learn, and connected by a shared philosophy of curiosity and hands-on learning.
Our teaching approach is informed by the multiple intelligences theory developed by Howard Gardner, a Harvard University graduate. This method considers that every child learns differently and that a traditional one-size-fits-all teaching style will leave some children behind.
The Howard Gardner theory challenges the idea of a single IQ and proposes that there are multiple types of human intelligence based on the different ways we process information.
Sensitivity to spoken and written language, the ability to learn languages, and the capacity to use language to accomplish certain goals.
The capacity to analyze problems logically, carry out mathematical operations, and investigate issues scientifically.
Skill in performance, composition, and appreciation of musical patterns — recognizing and composing musical pitches, tones, and rhythms.
The potential of using one's whole body or parts of the body to solve problems or fashion products.
The potential to recognize and use the patterns of wide space and more confined areas.
The capacity to understand the intentions, motivations, and desires of other people — and to work well with them.
The capacity to understand oneself — to appreciate one's own feelings, fears, and motivations.
Oak Bridge School is accredited through the Missouri Non-Public School Accreditation Association (MNSAA).

We begin teaching phonics, and rhyming games are used to help children begin to read. Students are introduced to IXL lesson plans, science and iPads.
